My Money

There are lots of things you need to think about carefully when opening a bank or building account as they make a difference to how easy it is to get to your money.

What is EMA?

Basically, EMA is cash in your hands to help you carry on learning. If you’re 16, 17 or 18 and have left, or are about to leave, compulsory education, then it could be for you.

Applying for EMA

You can apply for EMA at any time during the year, but if you want your payments backdated to the start of your course there’s a deadline for sending in your application.

Youth Funds?

‘Youth Funds’ is the name given to the Youth Opportunity Fund and Youth Capital Fund. If you’re between 13 and 19 years old and you want to see things improve in your neighbourhood, then Youth Funds are for you. There’s £115m to make better activities for teenagers in England – and you can be part of it.
